The Wabash River is West Central Indiana's Greatest Untapped Asset

The Wabash River is West Central Indiana's Greatest Untapped Asset

Wabash Valley Riverscape is turning miles of riverfront into a connected network of trails, parks, and natural spaces that drive economic growth, protect ecosystems, and give everyone access to the water.

This River Belongs to Everyone. Help Shape Its Future.

Right now, decisions are being made about riverfront development, trail connections, and habitat protection. Riverscape ensures those decisions reflect what the community actually wants, not just what's convenient.

When you become a member, you're joining business owners, conservationists, paddlers, cyclists, and neighbors who believe the Wabash should work for everyone. Your voice ensures projects move forward with accountability, your priorities get heard, and the riverfront becomes something the whole region can be proud of.

Get Out There

The best way to understand what's possible on the Wabash? Experience it yourself. Paddle through Wabashiki's wetlands, bike new trail segments, join a river cleanup, or bring your family to the riverside for a day of festivities at events like Moonlight on the Wabash and Explore Wabashiki.

Every event is a chance to see the river differently, and meet others who want to protect and enjoy it.

CELEBRATING 20 YEARS

For 20 years, Riverscape has worked to reconnect our community with the Wabash River. As we celebrate this milestone, we look ahead to a riverfront shaped by partnership, conservation, recreation, and pride in the place we call home.

Kayaking On Lake

We're Not Just Talking. We're Building

Riverscape's master plan isn't sitting on a shelf. It's a working blueprint that is already guiding real projects. Through the identified framework, every initiative gets evaluated on the three measures below.

Does it make the river accessible to everyone?

Trails, parks, safe public spaces

Does it protect what makes the river special?

Wetlands, wildlife corridors, water quality

Does it strengthen the regional economy?

New businesses, jobs, tourism

This framework keeps projects moving while making sure we don't sacrifice long-term value for short-term gains.

Turning Vision Into Miles of Trail

Public and Private Investments

This is happening because we are committed to working in that complex, most important space where government, conservation groups, businesses, and residents' needs align. We don't own the riverfront. We’re here to make sure the people who do are moving in the same direction.

Rivers Don't Revitalize Themselves

Every dollar funds the unglamorous work that makes river projects actually happen: technical planning, community meetings, coordination between seven municipalities, grant writing, environmental monitoring, legal reviews.

Without this connective tissue, riverfront development becomes a patchwork of disconnected projects that don't serve anyone well.

Your donation keeps Riverscape independent, accountable, and focused on what the community needs, not just what's easiest to fund.

Our Partners

We're grateful to these partners who have entrusted and invested in our

shared vision to transform the Wabash Riverfront.
